At 6pm last night, the gates closed at Festival Square for the final time, signalling the end of MIF15. After 18 extraordinary days of world premieres and special events, Manchester International Festival is now a memory. Thank you to our wonderful artists and performers, who all worked so hard to create such a dynamic and varied programme of great new works. Thank you to all our marvellous volunteers, so generous with their time and energy. Thank you to our public-sector funders; to our private-sector partners, about whom you can read more by clicking here; and to our individual Patrons, Pioneers and Members. Thank you to all our staff, to the teams at our many MIF venues, and to our co-commissioning and producing partners. We could go on.
But our greatest thanks go to everybody out there who became a part of MIF15 by buying tickets for a show, visiting one of our many free events or simply dropping into Festival Square. We’re delighted that you could join us for the fifth – and, we think, the best – Manchester International Festival.
So it’s goodbye from us for now, but it’s not farewell. Work starts today on MIF17 – stay tuned…
